Techno-Baby is a powerful dystopian short story about a government which bans its citizens' choice to reproduce naturally. The state regulates conception to deliberately reduce the population in order to raise the GDP. As its citizens are forced to comply to a 0.5 child per family regulation, clone and robot workers are rapidly replacing humans. Mei is initially delighted at the birth of her son but her happiness turns to horror in the days to follow. A chilling exploration of the betrayal of a government which bans even the most basic of human liberties.
